How I buy wine

If you are like me, you love to discover new wines, and the only issue is how to find the ones you like.

Let’s say I’m shopping for red wine. I go to the shop and think ok I’m in the mood for something fresh, not too heavy aka very drinkable.

Which you can translate as:
high acidity
low to medium tannins
fruit flavours

Red wine that matches this profile could be young Zinfandel or Beaujolais (Gamay grape). I know that these are not the only wines that match the pattern; there is much more to it. But it’s just an example.

There is a set of upcoming articles coming where I will talk a little bit more about each aspect of tasting and buying a wine based on your preferences.
